School Council January 2015

Happy New Year! 

We have started the New Year with two meetings where we have been discussing your ideas and suggestions.  We have particularly been focusing our time on making decisions about how to allocate funds donated to the school by The Darnhall Exhibition Foundation.  We have used your ideas (a special thank you goes to all the members of Miss Hickson's class who had a huge list of ideas) and chosen the following projects to focus the spending on.  

• Creating a box of resources to be used in the sensory room by groups of children for Religion sessions.  Several children requested that they would like their class to be able to use the sensory room more often, and suggested that it would be a good environment for Religion lessons.  Mrs Gum and Mrs Thorpe are considering how the Sensory room timetable can be adapted;  meanwhile the School Council will purchase resources that can be used be classes / groups of children for Religion sessions.
• Purchasing some extra resources (for each class) to be used during wet playtimes / lunchtimes.  Several children had expressed a concern that they would like some more.  We have now asked each class to make a list of suggestions of things they would like in their classroom.  We will then purchase these and pass them to you as soon as possible.
