Physical Education
Vision Statement
At St. Joseph’s we believe that physical education, experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is vital to pupils' physical development and health. Through a broad and balanced physical education curriculum, children are inspired to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness and offers opportunities to compete in sport and other activities which build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. We aim to provide each child with an appropriate level of challenge so that they continue to progress throughout the school.
Vulnerable Children
Equality of opportunity at St Joseph's Primary School means that all children, taking account of gender, age, ability, disability, ethnic origin, faith, culture, social circumstances and sexual orientation have full access to all the curricular, pastoral and social opportunities offered by our Physical Education curriculum.
We have gained the Platimum School Games Mark, having previously gained bronze, silver and gold. The children enjoy a full calendar of competitive events, both internally and against other schools and have enjoyed a good deal of success.
